The ‚Mind the Gap‘ exhibition presents the work of four artists, each of whom has transitioned from a graffiti background to their current artistic pursuits, or presence. This show highlights four unique approaches, yet all share a common thread of art emerging from the streets. Additionally, themes of the urban landscape and digital existence are central to the collective works of the featured artists. The exhibition layout dedicates one room of the gallery to each artist. Czech artist Matěj Janák will display his latest canvases, which exhibit a distinct post-graffiti style. The Berlin-based duo Inner fields is set to reveal realistic figurative paintings that comment on the isolating effects of digital media. Polish artist M-City will showcase his characteristic urban constructivism, which leans towards geometric abstraction. Lastly, Ukrainian artist Interesni Kazki will present his striking neo-surrealism, reflecting the harrowing current events in Ukraine. Taking place as part of the ongoing Wall Street mural artfestival, the three international artists participating in the ‚Mind the Gap‘ exhibition are also contributing to this year’s festival line-up. Each artist will create (or in the case of Innerfields, has already created) a new large-format mural in Prague this summer. In doing so, the ‚Mind the Gap‘ exhibition extends beyond the confines of the gallery, infusing the streets of Prague with its essence.
